The Eternal Blood Moon -Chapter 1: a child who would not grown

Once, there was a town that didn’t have sunlight. People lived under the weak light of a blood moon. For a long time, people only lived for 30 years, without feeling. After 3 decades of living, they turned into gray smoke and floated toward the blood moon.

There was a family who lived at the edge of the town, and like the other villagers, their days began with waking, then going to the field or the market, then having meals and going to sleep. They did all their daily work like programmed machines. But there was a difference in that family — a 12-year-old boy, Rin. He felt bored of his daily routine and wanted a change. More than that, he wanted to decide what to do and when to do it.

Rin lived with that dream for 28 years, and strangely, he didn’t seem to grow older physically. He had watched his family pass away, unconsciously.

31 years had passed. Rin did not grow any older — in both soul and appearance.

50 years passed. The villagers thought Rin was the one who had stolen time, and they banished him from the town into the Red Forest. They did not throw rocks or shout angrily. They just stood still with emotionless eyes.

Rin walked past the village gate. He turned around one last time and saw the tall tower of the town beneath the red light of the moon. In that light, he couldn’t see anyone’s face. Everything was blurred. The Red Forest — where people went and never returned — opened in front of Rin, darker than anything he had ever seen. Rin took a deep breath and walked inside. The town’s wooden gate closed behind him with a dry clicking sound. Rin knew that the villagers had gone back to their work mechanically, as if nothing had happened.

  • Rin has not change through time. This is strange and also understandable that the villagers banished him. Who is he? Is he really the one who steal time? And the moon. What was it? A wizard who feed on people’s souls? Let’s read more in Chapter 2 – coming soon – to find out!
