“12/1 is your birthday, and we have a gift for you,” Mom said.
“Oh, what is it?” Sam asked his mom.
“Please wait,” Mom replied with a smile.
On 12/1, Sam eagerly waited for his gift. Feeling a bit bored, he decided to play chess. He went to look for the chessboard but couldn’t find it. Thinking it might be under the bed, he crouched down and searched there.
As he opened the chessboard, he noticed something unexpected inside.
“Oh, what is this?” Sam exclaimed in surprise. There was a book inside!
