Alice is sitting at her desk in her office, thinking about James Diggory’s invention and doing some calculations. She knows that there are billions of robots in MRP. Each robot needs 100 tons of liquid from the outer core of The Center to reduce salt for a day. The total volume of the outer core is about 1.6 billion km³ (more than four times the volume of the Moon!). Each day, the factory exports the extracted salt to numerous countries around the world. This means that…

“You must stop extracting from the outer core right now!” Alice insists, inviting James Diggory to her laboratory. She has discovered something alarming through her calculations.
“Why? The process is improving every day!” James responds, confused.
“With all the exports and the consumption by your robots, we will run out of the outer core within four weeks!” Alice exclaims.
“That’s impossible!” James protests.
“Please! Stop!” Alice begs, showing her calculations to him.
“Stop doing what you’re doing!” James shouts.
“Look, James, the Earth’s magnetic field depends on the outer core. If the outer core disappears, the magnetic field will weaken or vanish, leaving Earth unprotected from solar winds. This could result in cosmic radiation flooding in, increasing the risk of cancer and causing disruptions to electronic systems, GPS, and telecommunications. Furthermore, Earth will become drier and drier as oxygen and water evaporate. Earthquakes will grow stronger, and the planet could lose orbital stability, ultimately becoming a second Mars.”

“Hey, I’ve been experimenting for five years! I’ve spent tons of money building the factory, hiring workers, and buying materials for another five years. And now you’re telling me to give it all up because of these ridiculous explanations? I haven’t even recovered my investments!” James says angrily.
“James, I know it’s hard to give up, but if you stop now, we can find a sustainable way to run the factory and the robots. You will save the world!” Alice pleads.
“I don’t want to spend another five years starting over. I have works to do. Thank you!” James storms out and slams the door.
- What will happen next? Why is James getting so angry? Maybe James is tired of dealing with people and wants to control independents and become a robot so he can rule the world. Maybe James is a hidden wizard trying to cast a spell on Alice because of her impoliteness.
